Sean has been at Alexandra Physiotherapy Centre for 17 years, with the last 15 as the clinic Owner/Director.

Sean trained at Otago University, and holds post graduate qualifications in Acupuncture (Otago), Manipulative Physiotherapy (Otago) and Lower Limb Biomechanics (Strathclyde, Edinburgh).

Sean is particularly skilled in musculoskeletal physiotherapy- neck and back pain, and upper and lower limbs. He sees patients with sports or accident injuries as well as more chronic conditions.

Sean has worked in Invercargill in the past as well as some years in Africa. He enjoys his involvement with the Alexandra Rugby Club, working on his farmlet and trying to keep up with the activities of his 3 children. Sean is married to Robin, also a physiotherapist.

Robin was also Otago trained and has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation. She is a registered Hand Therapist and is enjoying focusing on this area of work at present.

In the past, Robin has organised and delivered Physiotherapy services to Dunstan Hospital, working with the Child Development Unit there. She has also worked at Invercargill Hospital, part-time at a private practice, and as a physiotherapy tutor in Africa with the Leprosy Mission. Robin also has training in Vocational Rehabilitation and does some of this rehabilitation work, including worksite assessments in Alexandra.

Out of work, Robin enjoys time with her family; she has three children and a grandchild, catching up with Sean, and walks with the dogs.

Lymphoedema Therapist

 

Fiona graduated from Otago with a Diploma of Physiotherapy in 1992. Since graduating she completed her post graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine in 2001 and is also a Qualified Lymphoedema Therapist. She works part time and has a special interest in Sports Therapy and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries as well as the prevention and management of lymphoedema. Fiona does the majority of the Return to Work rehabilitation and strengthening programmes for our practice.

Fiona is married and has three children.

Her out of work interests include netball and spending time with her family and friends.

Megan Graduated from Otago University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Distinction. In 2010 she completed a post graduate certificate in Neurological Rehabilitation. Special interests in work include Neurological Rehabilitation such as strokes, brain injuries and neurological conditions. Mobility and falls prevention in the elderly. Pregnancy, post natal and pelvic floor exercises. She has had a wide range of work experience, and has worked at Dunstan Hospital which involved ward work as well as outpatient physiotherapy. She then spent time in Christchurch working in the community in the earthquake aftermath.

Now living in Alexandra again and married with a toddler, she is working part time in our Alexandra and Teviot Valley Physiotherapy clinics.

Out of work interests include kayaking, mountains biking, netball and basketball. 


Claire Corbett - Physiotherapist

Claire is originally from Wellington but moved south to study and graduated from Otago University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Initially working in our private practice she also spent time at Dunstan Hospital doing ward and outpatient physiotherapy. She spent 18 months working as a locum in the UK as well as travelling throughout Europe. She has now returned to the great outdoors of Central Otago and works at both the Alexandra and Teviot Valley Physiotherapy clinics. She is currently undertaking a Post Graduate Certificate in Acupunctur. Claire enjoys working with musculoskeletal conditions especially sports related injuries and has an interest in improving running technique.

Her out of work interests include spending time with friends, travel, trail running and racing.

 


Jude Parbhu - ReceptionJude Parbhu - Reception

Jude is one of our experienced receptionists and normally covers reception in the mornings. She has worked at the clinic for ten years and is originally from Alexandra.

She is married to Santilal with five children and has one grandchild.

Jude's out of work interests include softball, helping with performing arts, and spending time with her family.

 

 


Sue Harris - ReceptionSue Harris - Reception

Sue is one of our experienced receptionists and normally works in the afternoons. She has worked at the clinic for over 6 years and is originally from Alexandra.

Sue has many out of work interests including music (singing, song writing and playing the ukelele), watching rugby, and card making.
